Krytox™ TS4 (Thread Sealant)
Krytox™ TS4 sealant is designed for use on various metal and plastic surfaces and can be used in lieu of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tape. In contrast to PTFE tape, which needs to be removed before reapplication, Krytox™ TS4 sealant can be reapplied over existing thread sealant.
Like all Krytox™ products, Krytox™ TS4 is:
- Nonreactive
- Nontoxic
- Nonflammable
- Non-corrosive
- Compatible with most seal, O-ring, and valve polymers
It contains no volatile organic compound (VOC) content or hydrocarbon and is safe for oxygen use with no auto-ignition temperature.
Krytox™ TS4 is effective for a number of reasons. It clings to threads and will not shred or tear on assembly or disassembly. It cannot plug or restrict critical piping, valves, or instruments, which is often a problem with tape solids.
Additionally, Krytox™ TS4 is cost-effective since only a small amount of sealant is needed per application. It is fast, safe, and easy to apply, even while wearing protective gloves. And it has an operating temperature range of -54 to 149 ºC (-65 to 300 ºF).
Krytox™ EG (Electronic Grade) Greases
Krytox™ EG 2000 and Krytox™ EG 3000 greases are formulated specifically for electrical applications. While these grades offer different viscosities to match the application in which they are being used, they are both:
- Clear, colorless, fluorinated synthetic greases
- Nonreactive and nonflammable
- Safe in environments with chemical and oxygen service
- Long lasting
Krytox™ TM (Tire Mold) Grease to Increase Tire Production
Krytox™ TM7 grease is specifically designed to lubricate segmented molds, both electrically and steam-heated, in the vulcanization process of rubber tire manufacturing.
This application often uses hydrocarbon and hydrocarbon-based synthetic greases, which result in residue buildup. Because Krytox™ TM7 grease is a fluorinated lubricant, it avoids carbon residue buildup, keeping machinery running cleaner and more smoothly for longer.
Krytox™ TM7 grease also exhibits excellent adhesion, allowing a manufacturer to significantly increase production by extending lubrication intervals. Krytox™ TM7 grease will last more than 5,000 cycles, based on average curing times, without relubrication.
